The passing of the historic leader of the Socialist Party, Fatos Nano, has left saddened not only his family and close friends, but also all those who knew and collaborated with him over the years.
One of them is the Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe, who in an interview with Top Channel journalist Muhamet Veliu, recounted many of the stories with Nano, or his collaboration with him.
But what is a memory that Brace shares with the former prime minister in a human aspect?
"On a personal level, the most human thing is when I got married, Fatos Nano surprised my whole neighborhood... they were looking around the neighborhood 'where is he?' A neighbor of mine knocked on my door and said 'Hey, are these Guards looking for you?' 'Guards for me?' I said... one of those officers told me 'the prime minister is coming, he's with his wife.' And he came to my house," he confessed.
Brace stated that Nano is the historical leader of the Socialist Party, while adding that they are a product of his political school.
Among other things, Braçe also focused on the discussions he had with the deceased during the time they were together in politics.
"Fatos Nano is the historical leader of the Socialist Party. From the ruins of the Labor Party, he built a completely new thing with collaborators, a political force that survived time. Above all, a balancing political force in Albania.
"Keep in mind that it has not been easy at all, that between the two periods there was prison in between and extreme violence whenever he tried to bring calm, culture and dialogue to politics. We are a product of that school that Fatos Nano brought to the SP and politics ," said Braçe.
