Mark Fleming

Mark Fleming, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, was at the Special Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday.

The senior American official met with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, and two other prosecutors.

As part of the support and reconciliation with SPAK, Fleming met with the Minister of Interior of Albania, Albana Koçiu, as well as the Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, as well as other senior officials.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, was also in a meeting with Mr. Fleming.

The American official also met with opposition representatives. Gazment Bardhi, Belind Këlliçi and Jorida Tabaku participated in the meeting.

The senior official's meetings come at a time when the Special Prosecution Office will select a new head and is conducting investigations into high-level officials.

Because the US administration is closed, Fleming's meetings have not been published on the social media of the US embassy in Tirana.
