Former Prime Minister of Romania, Adrian Nastase, has reacted to the passing of former Prime Minister of Albania, Fatos Nano.

Through a post on social networks, Nastase writes that Fatos Nano played a key role in the democratic transformation and modernization of Albania.

Nastase is known as one of Nano's counterparts who had a very close relationship with him.

"We have met many times over the years and I clearly remember our last meeting in 2003, during my mandate as Prime Minister of Romania. Throughout his public life, Fatos Nano played a key role in the democratic transformation and modernization of Albania. His dedication and vision will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew and respected him. I express my sincere condolences and sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues in these moments of grief. May he rest in peace!", Nastase wrote on social networks.
