Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe says that Ogerta Manastirliu's candidacy for the leadership of the Tirana municipality came as an emergency last September, a time when the capital was on the verge of early elections.
Brace himself has offered to be a candidate, saying that today the Socialist Party has enough time available to select the candidate according to what the party's statute provides.
"There was an emergency in September, it could have been like that, now is enough time for the SP to carry out a process."
"What the statute provides, as is done for every municipality, can be done for Tirana as well," Braçe told Report TV.
The MP says that the desire to be the first in Tirana is not a personal ambition. While the request filed with the CEC to receive all individual results since the 1996 elections, the MP says that they only apply to his work and the work done by him.
"The result in time and in any territory only applies to work and jobs, it does not apply to career. It has nothing to do with personal ambitions," said Braçe.
