The process of Albania's integration into the European Union has entered a more dynamic and accelerated phase.
This was stated by Prime Minister Edi Rama during an interview for the "EstOvest" show on RAI, where he spoke about the progress of the negotiations and the country's strategic relations.
According to Rama, the acceleration of the process is related both to the fulfillment of reforms by Albania, as well as to a more favorable climate in Brussels for EU enlargement.
He emphasized that the ambition for membership is a long-standing objective, but it has currently received a new impetus.
Only, what Rama did not say is the fact that Brussels has imposed a condition on Balluk, for which he has challenged justice.
If the path to its trial is not paved, the path to the EU is a mirage.
In the interview, the head of government also emphasized relations with Italy, describing it as Albania's main supporter on the path towards the EU.
According to him, cooperation between the two countries has strengthened significantly in recent years.
One of the most strategic joint projects is Corridor VIII, which aims to connect the Adriatic coast with the Black Sea, creating an important transport and security axis for the region.
Rama emphasized that the project has entered a new phase of development.
Along the same lines, the Italian ambassador to Tirana, Marco Alberti, described Corridor VIII as a pan-European project of great importance, which includes road, rail transport, ports, airports and digitalization, increasing connectivity and security in the region.
Rama also focused on the underwater energy line project worth around 1 billion euros, which will connect Albania with Italy, within the framework of a trilateral agreement with the United Arab Emirates.
He considered this a strategic project not only for the two countries, but for all of Europe.
