DP elects branch heads in Elbasan and Durrës amid controversy

The vote counting process in the Democratic Party branch in Elbasan has been completed, where Alis Narazani was declared the winner by a majority of votes, with 477 votes.

He is a former candidate for MP in the 2025 elections.

There were five candidates in the race to lead the branch: Durim Çekrezi, who temporarily led the branch after Blendi Himçi's departure; Elior Vila, a lecturer, Lumturi Hasa, a doctor and former candidate for MP, Sokol Shkëlzeni, with long experience in the structures of the Democratic Party, and Alis Narazani, the winner of the race.

We recall that the leader of the group in the Municipal Council, Doris Madhi, Rudina Alla, chairwoman of the Democratic Women's Forum, Zheni Gjergji, after she was appointed director of the Elbasan Hospital, and Alesia Balliu, who has publicly announced her ambition to register and run in the race for leader of the DP, facing Berisha, were removed from the list.

The race for the leader of the Democratic Party (DP) has also ended in Durrës, with the election of Osman Stafa as the leader of the coastal city's democrats.
