The meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party has ended, where today no decision has been taken on sitting at the table with the majority for the election of the President, as they will meet again on Monday.
The only decision that was taken was to submit a request for the establishment of a special parliamentary commission for abuses with the sale and purchase of electricity and the crisis created in the energy system. MPs Helidon Bushati, Lefter Gështenja and members of the Democratic Party in the Commission of Production Activities are in charge of this.
After the meeting, the head of the parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj stated that it is an obligation to voters to participate in the process, as he said that the deputies will bring the criteria for the new President.
"This was the first meeting where the parliamentary agenda was discussed. The issue of special commissions that constitute raw materials for the opposition group was discussed. The issue of the President of the Republic was also discussed. I want to thank my fellow MPs for their responsibility to face this process. It is an important process that also tests the approach of the DP itself. It was a meeting where each of the deputies gave his opinion. I saw a consensus from all MPs. In terms of organization to have another meeting on Monday. All deputies were asked to provide criteria in relation to this process, according to which, we PD, and PD deputies, as they imagine, what will be the criteria, political and moral virtues for the President. What I noticed was this, with a great sense of responsibility, MPs split the two issues.
After the meeting, MP Ervin Salianji also spoke, who said that he would try to gather the entire PD group, and not continue to be divided into several parts.
"I will make every effort to gather the PD group and not to divide the group, the proposals of all deputies are individual positions, the group leadership will schedule the next meeting," said Salianji.
