Prime Minister Edi Rama chose to address his followers on social media with a video following the Italian Senate's approval of the pension agreement. After stating that it is one of the two most difficult agreements, Rama thanked the Italian Prime Minister for finalizing it.
"Halall and jokes, mockery, ridicule to swearing, it was not a lie, it was a game, and it is forbidden... It is important that now the effort and sacrifice of a life working across the sea of Albanians will be recognized the same as the Italians. This was one of the two most difficult pension agreements, because it concerns almost half a million people and I am grateful to Meloni, without whom this work would not have ended and could be done for years and years to come," said Rama.
The Albanian government's goal is now to finalize the pension agreement with Greece. Rama expressed his confidence that in his fourth term, the pensions of Albanians in Greece will be legally recognized.
But not only here. Rama emphasizes that in this mandate, all the issues agreed upon between the parties must be crossed out, and among them, he spoke about the abolition of martial law.
"Now the icing on the cake to put on and close this entire cycle remains the agreement with Greece. The sky has opened again from the clouds that, as you know, gathered again for the reason you know and my determination is to close all the still open issues with the same vision, with the same will, with the same sense of respect and cooperation that together with Prime Minister Mitsotakis we have shared since we first met. I am very confident that our fourth mandate will be the mandate of legalized pensions for Albanians in Greece, just as it must definitely be the mandate of abolishing martial law and putting the "i" on all the points agreed between us. "Albania 2030 will be together in the EU and will have left behind every shadow of the past, offering more than ever for the common good of both peoples, but also with the conviction that in this increasingly turbulent world, together we are much, much stronger ," said Rama.
