The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, in an interview on Top Channel with journalist Grida Duma, also spoke about Albania's abstention vote in the United Nations General Assembly on the resolution that paves the way for the creation of the state of Palestine. 

Albania's abstention caused a stir as it stood out from the ranks of European countries that voted in favor.

Spiropali declared that Albania had followed a "sovereign policy" by abstaining from the vote.

"I feel very good when I am in such meetings because I have the path paved by what has been done before. Albania has a clear strategic stance, Albania is a small country but very well oriented, it is a country that has no surprises.

We know Albania's position on Ukraine, Israel's position on Palestine. Albania has abstained on some issues, we thought we did not have the capacity to make a decision whether we would be for or against. In this case, Albania is allowed to maintain a sovereign position.

"We have had a clear stance like the light of the Sun. We condemn the terrorist attacks of Hamas. We congratulate the agreement reached with the help of the US. A process of a consolidated peace has begun ," said Spiropali.
