The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has reacted after the DP's denunciation, which claimed that Mrs. Juna Harka was appointed Second Secretary at the Albanian Consulate in Istanbul and that she was presented with a diplomatic passport, while she has not worked for a single day in diplomacy and that she is the wife of the Turkish citizen Ramazan Keski, head of a criminal organization active in drug trafficking, whose properties in Albania have been seized by SPAK.

In a reaction to the media, the MEPJ says that Juna Harka has been appointed a diplomat based on the law and that she meets all the conditions. But, according to MEPJ, in the family certificate she is unmarried. 

Despite the document published by the DP, the MEPJ further says that Juna Harka did not take office, as during this period she was in the process of verification, and that she was never equipped with a diplomatic passport, despite claims by the DP.

In response, it is said that Juna Harka has asked the Directorate of Human Resources at the MEPJ to withdraw, for personal reasons, and that she is no longer in that position.

Full reaction:

"MEPJ garanton qytetarët e Republikës së Shqipërisë që do të vijojë të zbatojë ligjin. Nisur nga akuzat e bëra sot në drejtim të Ministrisë për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme mbi emërimin e shtetases Juna Harka, sqarojmë se emërimi është bërë bazuar në ligjin nr 23/2015, “Për shërbimin e jashtëm të Republikës së Shqipërisë”, neni 31, pika 3, që parashikon emërimin për nevoja të veçanta diplomatike të ekspertëve jashtë shërbimit të jashtëm, të cilët zotërojnë njohuri dhe ekspertizë, sipas specifikave të pozicionit të emërimit.

Për dijeni të opinionit publik, në jetëshkrimin e paraqitur pranë MEPJ rezulton se shtetasja në fjalë plotëson të gjitha kushtet. Ajo ka përfunduar studimet e larta jashtë vendit për marrëdhënie ndërkombëtare, zotëron tre mastera dhe ka një përvojë të gjerë në mësimdhënie, gazetari dhe botën akademike. Për më tepër znj. Harka, e cila është lindur e rritur në familje diplomatësh zotëron shkëlqyer katër gjuhë të huaja, ndër të cilat gjuhën turke.

Bazuar mbi këto kritere e cilësi është bërë fillimisht emërimi i saj në Konsullatën e Përgjithshme të RSH në Stamboll. Në kuadër të transparencës dëshirojmë të nënvizojmë faktin se në dokumentat zyrtarë (çertifikatë familjare) znj. Harka rezulton e pamartuar.

After the appointment, she did not take office, as during this period she was in the process of verification, in accordance with the law. We inform you that during this verification process, Mrs. Harka has asked the Directorate of Human Resources at the MEPJ to withdraw, for personal reasons.

Once again, we confirm that the citizen Juna Harka has not served a single day in the Foreign Service of the Republic of Albania, does not have a diplomatic passport and has not enjoyed for a moment the immunities and privileges given by the status of a diplomat. Consequently, there has been no communication with the Turkish authorities about this appointment.

The above facts prove that all that has been served to public opinion today only for political reasons are baseless accusations and misinformation. MEPJ guarantees the citizens of the Republic of Albania that it will continue to apply the law."
