Prime Minister Edi Rama has appointed Majlinda Dhuka as chief negotiator and Minister of State.

"Now that the priority of Reconstruction gives way to the priority of Negotiations with the EU, the profile of the Minister of State changes. Majlinda Dhuka, a high technical profile instead of the high diplomatic profile of Ambassador Mazi, becomes the Chief Negotiator & Minister of State under the Prime Minister", said the head of the government Edi Rama, as he announced the news in a post on Twitter on Monday morning.

But who is Majlinda Dhuka? 

Dhuka is known as an associate of Prime Minister Edi Rama since the latter led the Municipality of Tirana. Recently, she has held important positions in the Prime Minister.

Dhuka is the daughter of Foto Dhuka, former Minister of Industry and Trade in the Government of National Reconciliation in 1997.

Majlinda Dhuka has been a lecturer at a private university with an economic profile for years.
