The plane, on which Antony Blinken will travel to Tirana, is expected to touch Albanian soil after noon on Thursday, February 15.

Secretary Blinken's first stop is expected to be the American embassy in Tirana, to thank them for their work. Then, the meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama, the only politician so far on the agenda, scheduled to talk.

The headline of the Blinken, Rama meeting will be security issues in the region where Russia has openly demonstrated constant de-stabilizing efforts.

Despite the fact that Russian rubles have been present in Albanian politics on two occasions, for the USA, Albania is seen as a country where the interference of other actors is negligible compared to neighboring countries.

Naturally, internal issues of our country will also be discussed, from where Secretary Blinken will underline the importance of the fight against corruption, a priority of the Biden administration.

Secretary Blinken is expected to deliver the messages of this visit in a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The possibility of a visit to the pyramid transformed into an IT center for young people, with the help of the American Development Fund, is being considered. The meetings in our country during this visit of the sixth US Secretary of State will continue with the head of SPAK Altin Dumani.

It is believed that it could be a working lunch or dinner, with the head of SPAK, where representatives of OPDAT, the American mission in our country, which has participated in the drafting of the justice reform and the establishment of new institutions since 2016.

Currently, OPDAT is one of the only international projects that has a permanent presence with an office in SPAK.

From Tirana, Secretary Blinken will travel to the security conference in Munich on Friday, February 16.
