Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha started his speech with a message to the protesters who gather every day at 18:00 below his palace.

Berisha appeared excited, apparently by the merger of the Gazment Bardhi group with Rithelimilim and the start of preparations for a large protest on February 20.

He has called the protesters his heroes and all of Albania, who stood by him in difficult times.

Part of Berisha's speech:

We went through great difficulties, I don't deny it. We are facing a dictatorship which controls the parliament, which controls justice, which has destroyed pluralism and destroyed the electoral process by robbing the free vote.

We are facing an open aggression against the opposition. The president is not allowed to have his name on the ballot and is arrested in the most political process documented in European history.

We have been attacked by the party courts that hold the party seal hostage.

We are attacked by some of the biggest media in the country who say that the opposition is to blame for the government's sins.

But it is these difficulties that have activated our Albanian DNA and as Albanians we give strength to face everything invincibly.

It is these attacks that awaken the lion within us and give us the courage to face the hyenas and we have tried that.

We have won twice, actually three times, in the most unlikely conditions and we will win again.

We will win for the future of Albanian youth, for democracy, for Albania.

Dear democrats, I bow before you with the deepest gratitude.

At my age, at an age when I thought I had seen everything in life, you gave me the chance to experience the most powerful emotions. You inspired me by standing in front of every attack that was made on the DP as true giants of the national interest.

You weren't sold, you weren't intimidated, you weren't scared, you weren't tricked.

You gave me hope and today more than ever you are my heroes, you are the heroes of Albanians.

Yes, you are my heroes that when Albania was immersed in apathy under the motto "what do I need", when the regime thought it gave the opposition a fatal blow, you proved that Albania's fate is in safe hands.

We have been in opposition for 10 years, dear friends. Opposition is difficult, but it is even more difficult when it lasts 10 years. You have gone through a lot of pain, injustice, sacrifices.

The opposition becomes unbearable when those institutions that are supposed to be with the law are corrupted and used as a rifle against the opposition.

They are used as Dumani at the head of the criminal organization of the Skapi party for the amnesty of Edi Rama and his electoral criminals for files 339 and 184.

They are used for the amnesty of Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj for the theft of the century, chilies, sterilization, the port of Durrës, Butrint, the multibillion-dollar affairs of Edi Rama and his clan.

It is used to amnesty the Rama-McGonigal scandal of the century for which the judgment day is approaching.

The judgment day for Edi Rama is near and Edi Rama, on February 20, will get what he deserves!
