Sali Berisha

For the third time after being put under investigation for the privatization of the sports club, Partizani, the country's former prime minister, Sali Berisha, will appear before SPAK tomorrow.

The difference is that on Monday at 10:00, he will go, no longer to be questioned, but in obedience to the court order that has imposed on him the obligation to report to the judicial police.

The measure that obliges the leader of the DP to face the Prosecutor's Office twice a month, respectively, on the first and last Monday of the month, was imposed on January 3 by a decision of the Special Appeals Court by Judge Engert Pëllumbi.

Two prosecutors, Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Millonai, opposed the release of the democratic leader from solitary confinement at the Court of Appeals.

But tomorrow Sali Berisha will await the important decision, that of the fate of the Partizani file itself, whether or not it will be subject to trial. The decision whether or not the Partizani file will pass to the Special Court, will be given by the same judge who released Berisha from home isolation, Flojera Davidhi.

At SPAK, he will be welcomed by supporters of the Democratic Party, who have announced a protest at the door of the prosecutor's office in opposition to the investigations being conducted against the opposition leader.

As a high-ranking state official suspected of corruption, Berisha has been indicted along with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi. The latter is also accused of money laundering.

Also suspected is the builder, Fatmir Bektashi, who carried out the works for the 17 towers in the former Partizani sports complex, and the notary, Andia Pustina.
