The Assembly of the Socialist Party in Kukës has today approved the candidature of Albert Halilaj for the municipality of Kukës.

"Today, the assembly of the Socialist Party approved the candidacy of Albert Halilaj! The electoral headquarters held the first meeting! Difficulty is a challenge and not an obstacle for our family! We will make it," declared Halilaj.

Halilaj previously held the post of director of the Regional Directorate of Taxes in Kukës, as well as the post of Prefect of Kukës District.

The elections in Kukës will be held on September 24, after the dismissal and imprisonment of the mayor Safet Gjici, just a few days after he was reconfirmed, because he was caught in an erotic video scandal in his office in the Municipality.

Thus, 6 candidates from the "Together We Win" coalition are expected to go through the "Primaries" process.
