"A terrible slippage of the justice system", that's how Argita Malltezi called the accusations against her father, former prime minister Sali Berisha and her husband Jamarbër Malltezi.
In a rare interview in the studio of "Top Story" on Top Channel, Malltezi called the issue of SPAK a political attack. She said she never thought about it, but anything is possible.
"Besides the fact that in my life politics and family are two inseparable things, it's my father, it's my husband, this is a case where both as a lawyer and as a family member and as a person who follows political developments, I consider it to be an extremely slip of the legal system. When the political attack is made by the justice system, this is a serious slip. Today I am grateful to you for inviting me", said Malltezi.
Asked by moderator Grida Duma about her wealth, Malltezi said that she was among the first to declare every penny of her wealth since 2005.
"It was one of the best decisions in terms of political decisions. Truth is freedom for you to act in a structure that you know. If that statement had not been made, today people would have more uncertainty about what they have. Even before that declaration, I have tried to follow that system of moral norms to which I hold fast and have followed it constantly. For this fact, since I graduated from the faculty, I have saved every kind of document. And this has become a very strong weapon for me", said Malltezi.
