The head of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Bledi Çuçi, has accused the opposition of being responsible for blocking today's parliamentary session, saying that it was a scenario they had prepared earlier.
Çuçi said outside the parliament that none of the opposition MPs had registered to speak, which means, according to him, that they had planned to block the session.
"Today, I believe you and all Albanians witnessed a scene that is not at all acceptable, even for a country like Albania, which has had a long transition phase and is a democratic state that is consolidating every day. You all saw the scenario that the opposition colleagues had prepared, I say the scenario that today was the session where we address and express the concerns received from the green week. None had previously registered to speak, meaning they had prepared for this scenario. I guarantee you that this will not happen, the parliament will continue normally", stated Çuçi.
The socialist deputy also responded to the accusations of Berisha's group, which claims to have been left out of parliamentary processes.
"In any democratic parliament, it is not the duty of the majority to approve the amendments of the opposition, but this happens, when they are appropriate, for a certain legal framework. Like investigative commissions, it is the right of the opposition, but the Constitution says that this should not be abused and it is the subject of the investigation", said Çuçi.
