Jon Sinoimeri, a 20-year-old medical student in Tirana, has refuted from the protest square Prime Minister Edi Rama's accusations that he had nothing to do with the student protest and, moreover, according to him, was a person criminally prosecuted by the authorities.
Publishing a photo of the student with only a black bandana covering his eyes, Rama said: "we continue with JS: 20 years old, but not a student, production and sale of narcotics, registered criminal record."
The 20-year-old student called the accusations against him untrue, speaking from Friday's protest, where hundreds of medical students and professors joined the protest and marched towards the Ministry of Education.
The Sinoimer showed his excellent grades and said that the first time he had been to a police station was on October 13, after he had been escorted during the protest and was held at the station for 7 and a half hours.
However, the Police claim that about a year ago, this citizen was detained by the services of Police Station No. 2 in Tirana with a small amount of hashish.
It concerns a packaged quantity of 1.4 grams, but since the proceedings have gone to the Prosecutor's Office, the prosecution has not continued with the criminal prosecution of Jon Sinoimer, as such a quantity is considered for personal use and the proceedings have remained only in the records of the State Police.
