Belinda Balluku/ Ergys Verdho

Ergys Verdho was informed today by the Special Prosecution Office of the charges against him, as part of the file that also includes former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku.

Verdho appeared today at the Special Prosecution Office to be briefed on charges of alleged violations during the time he was director of the Albanian Road Authority, as a subordinate of Belinda Balluku.

Reporting live on the news edition on Top Channel, Anila Hoxha said that the communication of the charges against Verdho comes a few days after SPAK communicated the five charges to Balluk.

Meanwhile, Verdho appeared today at SPAK, "stripped of the costume" of the director of Railways, which he wore until yesterday. Following the order of Prime Minister Edi Rama, he resigned.

The prosecutor in the case, Dritan Prençi, has until January 2027 to complete the investigations into the file that includes Balluku, as well as a number of former officials and officials who were subordinates to her.

SPAK officially announced that Balluk is facing charges of violating equality in tenders, 9 times, corruption, refusal and failure to declare assets, and laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity.
