Donald Trump Jr. will end his singlehood this weekend, as he is expected to marry popular Palm Beach model Bettina Anderson in a private and luxurious ceremony on a small island in the Bahamas.

However, the most attention has been drawn to the absence of his father, Donald Trump, who publicly confirmed that he will not attend his son's wedding.

According to American media, the ceremony was organized in a very discreet manner, with fewer than 50 guests, where only the closest family and closest friends of the couple will participate. Sources close to the organization indicate that Don Jr. and Bettina Anderson had requested that the details of the event not be released to the media to avoid public attention and the strong security measures that the presence of the American president would bring.

Trump himself confirmed the absence through a post on Truth Social, where he stated that state duties do not allow him to leave Washington.

"Although I would very much like to be with my son, Don Jr., and the youngest member of the Trump family, Bettina, circumstances related to government and my love for the United States do not allow this ," the American president wrote.

He added that he considers it important to remain in the White House during this tense international period.

"It is important for me to remain in the White House during this important period. Congratulations to Don and Bettina! " Trump declared.

The day before, during a statement in the Oval Office, the president had hinted that he was still considering whether or not to attend the wedding.

"He wants me to be there, but it will be a very small and private ceremony. I will try to go ," Trump said, adding that "the timing is not favorable" due to developments related to Iran and other international issues.

The president even humorously commented on the media's reaction to his decision.

"In this case, I can't win. If I go, they'll attack me. If I don't go, they'll attack me again," he said.

The wedding will mark the second marriage for Donald Trump Jr. He was previously married for 12 years to Vanessa Trump, whom he divorced in 2018. Just a few days ago, Vanessa Trump announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Don Jr. was also engaged from 2020 to 2024 to Kimberly Guilfoyle, currently the US ambassador to Greece.
