Some curiosities about Uranus, the coldest planet in the solar system
Uranus

Uranus is the 7th planet from the Sun and the 3rd largest (diameter).

Uranus is larger in diameter but smaller in weight than Neptune.

Uranus is the ancient Greek God of the heavens. Uranus was the son and companion of Gaia, the father of Cronus (Saturn), the Cyclopes and the Titans (ancestors of the Great Gods).

Uranus had been seen many times before, but ignored as just another star. The first discovery was in 1690 when John Flamsteed named it 34 Tauri. The name Uranus was proposed by Bode, in keeping with other planetary names from classical mythology, but did not come into common use until the 1850s.

Uranus has been visited by only one spacecraft, Voyager 2 on January 24, 1986.

Uranus' atmosphere is composed of about 83% hydrogen, 15% helium and 2% natural liquid.

Like the other gas planets, Uranus has clusters of clouds that move at an extreme speed. But they are very dim.

The blue color of Uranus is the result of absorption of red light by methane in the upper atmosphere.

It can be different colors like Jupiter, but they may be hidden by layers of methane.

Like other planets, Uranus also has rings. Uranus' rings are composed of quite large particles, up to 10 meters in diameter, in addition to fine dust.

Uranus has 11 known rings, all very faint, one of the rings is called Epsilon. The rings of Uranus were the first to be discovered, followed by those of Saturn. This was of considerable importance and we now know that the rings are a common feature of the planets and are not a characteristic of Saturn alone.

Uranus is incredibly hard to see with the naked eye, but it's fairly easy to see with a telescope (if you know exactly where to look).

-Uranus is the coldest planet in our solar system with temperatures that can drop to -224 degrees Celsius.

-Astronomers have found that Uranus' ring system is similar to Jupiter's, although the contents of Uranus' ring system consist mainly of material that was produced by the impacts of relatively small "satellites".

-Did you know that Uranus is the only known planet in our Solar System that actually rotates on its side?

Distance: 2,870,990,000 km from the Sun

Distance: 2,574,950,400 from Earth

Diameter: 51.118 km

Mass: 8.683 and 25 kg

Revolution around the Sun: 84 years

Rotation around itself: 17.2 hours

If it weighs 68 kg on Earth, it weighs 60 kg on Uranus.

Temperature: -224 °C Below Zero
