Journalist Vanessa Robles suffered minutes of anxiety while broadcasting live from Ecuador's capital, Guayaquil. While reporting before the final of the Copa Libertadores, which will be played on Monday at the "Monumental" stadium in this city, the journalist fell victim to two masked and motorcycle robbers.
The armed men tried to steal her mobile phone, but stopped after the journalist told her that they are direct, with the perpetrators covering their faces.
"We were reporting when two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and came to steal the cell phone. We said we were live, a policeman appeared and they ran away," explained Vanessa, who works for the Ecuadorian channel Teleamazonas.
According to the journalist, one of the men even showed a gun in an attempt to intimidate her and put her hand on her personal belongings. "Thank God we were live, that stopped them a little. They covered their faces and ran away," added the journalist.
