Saturn's rings will 'disappear' in 2025!

In 1610 Galileo Galilei first noticed Saturn's spectacular rings.

Today, everyone can see the rings with a simple tool, but this will not be possible until 2025.

The rings of Saturn will ' disappear ' twice, writes " Metro ".

The seven rings are thought to have been created from fragments of comets, asteroids and shattered moons that came too close to the gas planet and were destroyed by its powerful gravity.

It also has billions of pieces of ice and is all covered in space dust. No one knows how old the rings are, but according to a study published in May, they formed about 400 million years ago, after 1/10 the age of the planet.

The rings are disappearing as icy rain in Saturn's atmosphere. However, they are so large that they will be difficult to distinguish from our planet and will take 100 million years to completely disappear.

It's all about optical illusion. On one side the rings are gigantic, while on the other they do not reach more than 10 meters in thickness.

In 2025, Saturn will be tilted at an angle of 3.7 degrees and its rings will appear very thin.

The phenomenon won't last long as the planet moves away from Earth during its 29.5-year cycle and will gradually show the lower part of the rings until it is completely tilted in 2032.
