Ukraine shoots down a Russian Su-35 model aircraft (Video)

A week after Ukraine's Security Service carried out a major drone attack on more than 40 Russian military aircraft last week, the Ukrainian Air Force has shot down a Russian Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet.

"This morning, on June 7, 2025, as a result of a successful Air Force operation in the direction of Kursk, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet was shot down," the Ukrainian military announced in a message on the Telegram application.

Russian forces have not yet commented on the matter, while Reuters notes that it was unable to independently confirm this information.

Ukraine's security service last week damaged and destroyed the Tu-95 and Tu-22 strategic bombers, which Russia uses to launch long-range missiles against Kyiv.
