Twitter changes logo, replaces blue bird with X symbol

Twitter owner Elon Musk unveiled the social platform's new logo on Monday, which will feature a white letter X with a black background.

This symbol will replace the blue bird.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino announced the news in a post on Monday morning. According to her, rebranding the platform is an exciting new opportunity.

"Twitter has changed the way we communicate," she said.

According to Musk, even posts known as "tweets" will be replaced with "x posts".

The billionaire has changed his profile picture, installing the new logo, and added "X.com" to the account bio.

Musk wants to create what is known as a "super app," called "X," and believes his vision contains a different kind of social network.

He has also changed the name of the business to X Corporation, and said that the replacement "should have been done a long time ago".

The current icon, the bluebird, is named Larry, which Twitter co-founder Biz Stone says is named after basketball star and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.
