Thessaloniki was shocked today by a serious tragedy in the family. The event took place on Tuesday morning in an apartment in Kalamaria, when a 38-year-old policeman killed his 42-year-old ex-wife with a gun and then committed suicide. The couple was divorced and did not live together.

According to the Greek media , the 38-year-old man and the 42-year-old woman had two children, whom the author had taken and left at school earlier. He then went to his ex-wife's apartment, shot her in the stomach, before killing himself.

The police were notified by the neighbors about a shooting incident in the apartment on the 6th floor. Once the police arrived, they found the bodies. The couple had not called the authorities about a domestic problem.

In 2023, the couple separated by mutual consent, which regulated the days and hours for the children.

The children were at school at the time of the murder and did not know their parents were dead.

Psychologists went from the first moment to the school attended by the two minor children to support them.
