Putin praises Elon Musk: He is an extraordinary person, a talented businessman
Vladimir Putin / Elon Musk

Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised American businessman Elon Musk, calling him an "extraordinary person".

Putin made the comments during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, as he spoke about his country's space program.

"Elon Musk... is definitely an extraordinary person. It must be accepted. I think the whole world accepts that. He is an active and talented businessman," Putin said, according to a Reuters translation.

Putin said that Musk does business with the support of the American state. The Russian president added that Moscow is "ready to develop" support for private businesses in the country.

We recall that Musk has been at the center of criticism in recent days after the revelation that he interrupted the Internet service of the Ukrainian army while they were attacking the Russian war fleet with drones.

Musk had secretly asked Starlink engineers to shut down the Internet, causing the attack to fail. Musk allegedly did this to avoid escalating the war with a Russian nuclear response.
