"Let them run if they want to govern." This was the harsh response that Giorgia Meloni gave to the black platoons in an interview.
The Italian Prime Minister took 15 minutes to answer just one question, raising her voice against the judges.
"There are some judges, fortunately few, who want to decide on industry and environmental policy, immigration policy, they want to decide whether and how to reform justice, what we can spend money on and what we can't," Meloni said.
And again, raising her voice, the Italian prime minister added: "In practice they want to govern. Only there is a problem. If I make a mistake, the Italians will send me home. If they make a mistake, no one can do or say anything. No power in the world, in a democratic state, works like that. That's what counterbalances are for."
Underlining that "when a state power thinks it can do without others, the system collapses," Meloni continues her address with a provocation and sarcastic laughter.
"If some judges want to govern, they should run... The only thing that doesn't happen is for them to govern and me to run for office. No one would accept that," she stressed.
