Donald Trump has spoken again about the assassination, saying that he was " supposed to be dead ", while calling the assassination attempt a "surreal experience".
" I'm not supposed to be here, I'm supposed to be dead ," Trump said, speaking to the New York Post while en route to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.
Trump wore a white headband covering his right ear, but his aides did not allow any photos to be taken, the Post said.
"The doctor at the hospital said he had never seen anything like it, he called it a miracle," Trump added.
He said he wouldn't be if he didn't turn his head slightly to the right to read a sign about illegal immigrants.
In that instant, what would have been a killing shot instead grazed a small part of his ear.
Trump said that as Secret Service agents led him off the stage, he wanted to continue talking to supporters, but agents told him it wasn't safe and they needed to take him to the hospital.
