Hysri Selimi has been arrested in Kosovo on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Espionage".

Selimi is a name known to Kosovo authorities for his previous involvement in terrorist activities.

According to Insajder, sources within security institutions have confirmed suspicions of Serbia's involvement in the spread of radical religious currents in Kosovo, referring to the arrest of Selim.

Sources within the KIA have informed Insajder that security institutions possess numerous material evidence.

The operation to arrest Selim was carried out in close cooperation with the Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes, as well as with the assistance of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA).

The KIA has managed to identify five people arrested this year who have links to the Serbian BIA.

Among the people arrested for collaborating with Serbian intelligence in May last year were Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi.

Meanwhile, in June 2024, Aleksandar Vlajić and Jelena Djukanović were arrested, and in March 2025, they were arrested for their involvement in armed resistance in the north, namely gathering information and influencing international organizations.

The arrested Hysri Selimi was tried by the Kosovo justice system for the crime of terrorism and for being part of the ISIS organization.

The same man, along with other family members, had left Kosovo for Syria in order to join ISIS.

Hysri Selimi from the village of Bresalc in the Gjilan Municipality was known under suspicion of links to ISIS, while according to the indictment at the time, Selimi was engaged in the ISIS wounded soldiers' bureau, for which he was regularly paid by this organization with 100 USD per month.

In 2022, the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo filed an indictment at the Basic Court in Pristina - Special Department, against him for the criminal offense of organizing and participating in a terrorist group.

He was accused of having deliberately and intentionally, as well as with prior preparation, left the territory of Kosovo together with his wife and minor daughter through the "Adem Jashari" International Airport in Pristina.

He had traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, and through certain connections, he penetrated Syria with the aim of joining the terrorist organization "ISIS", which has been fighting in these countries, where he has been engaged as a member of "ISIS", as an administrator in the Bureau of Wounded Soldiers under the administration of "ISIS", he was financed by "ISIS" with the amount of $ 100 per month, collaborating with superiors and fighters of "ISIS".

According to the prosecution, the same person in this terrorist organization was engaged in the Bureau of Wounded Soldiers, and for this function he was financed by ISIS with the amount of 100 USD per month.

Hysri Selimi was repatriated to Kosovo on 28.05.2022.
