One person died and several others were injured Wednesday when a Tesla car that appeared to be carrying fireworks caught fire and exploded outside President-elect Donald Trump's hotel in Las Vegas.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Wednesday afternoon on the X network that " we have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by a large amount of fireworks and/or a bomb stored in the bed of the rental pickup truck and is not related to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion ," he wrote.
Law enforcement officials have not ruled out terrorism as a possible motive, said a person familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to publicly discuss the details of the investigation.

Doesn't look like a simple battery explosion. Why do I see fireworks? pic.twitter.com/squAcWlgpe
