U.S. attacker, Army veteran and buyout agent identified
Suspected perpetrator of shamsud-Din Jabbar attack

The attacker has been identified in the New Orleans attack that killed 10 people and injured 30 others who were celebrating the turn of the year on one of the city's populous streets.

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, a U.S. Army veteran and property-buying agent, according to a YouTube channel.

He was dressed in military uniform when a Ford electric car rammed dozens of citizens and then began shooting. There is no doubt that he was radicalized in the United States.

In the car he allegedly had artisanal explosives and a black flag similar to that of Islamic State, as far as he can distinguish from photos shared on social media. He was killed by police at the scene.
