Italy was rocked by a macabre crime, where a 30-year-old man killed his pregnant partner, whose body had been missing since the weekend. But, the Italian media announce that the body of 29-year-old Giulia Tramontano, seven months pregnant, was found in an old building in via Monte Rosa.
It was her partner Alessandro Impagnatiello, arrested for murder, who revealed where he had hidden the young woman's body. The confession came after a day of frantic searches and unexpected investigative developments.
The apartment in which the couple lived was seized after traces of blood were found in the SUV of the 30-year-old, who worked as a barista in a luxury bar in Milan. Later, when the carabinieri analyzed the apartment, many traces of blood appeared, especially on the stairs of the building and at its entrance. He had also tried to clean it, but it did not survive the scientific analysis.
At that moment, the 30-year-old confessed and allowed the body to be found: "I killed him." According to an initial examination, he also tried to burn the body, which was found wrapped in several plastic bags. But one glance of the carabinieri was enough to notice the large tattoo on the girl's right arm and to recognize the body without a doubt.
Giulia Tramontano had disappeared from her home on the night between Saturday and Sunday. Five days in which there was no sign of life from her. Despite the faint hope of her sister Chiara. Just before one in the morning the final confirmation came, that there was nothing more to be done.
But how did the serious event happen?
At 10:00 p.m. Alessandro Impagnatiello headed to his apartment, talking on a speakerphone: baseball cap, a beige hooded jacket pulled over his head, his gaze lowered in front of the flash and cameras.
He is then forced to get out of the car and is escorted by carabinieri from the homicide squad to the apartment. Finally, when he turns against the car, he curses and kicks.
In the afternoon, Impagnatiello's car was checked, where traces of blood had emerged. The bartender confessed that he killed his partner and loaded the body into his Volkswagen T-roc SUV. He would then have walked for several kilometers, so much so that investigators assumed he might have reached a wooded area. This was not the case and the body was found six hundred meters from the house.
During the night, Impagnatiello was interrogated by magistrates Mannella and Menegazzo and by the leaders of the Carabinieri of Milan, General Iacopo Mannuçi Benincasa, Colonels Antonio Coppola and Fabio Rufino.
In the investigation documents, there would also be a crucial image of the moment he leaves the house between Saturday and Sunday. Investigations focus on his movements, in Senago and Milan, on the night of his disappearance.
It is suspected that it was Impagnatiello himself who wrote the last messages sent from the girl's cell phone on Saturday evening. The last one was around 9:30 p.m. when she wrote to a friend that she was upset after an argument with her boyfriend and that she just wanted to sleep.
The last traces of Giulia's life were captured on a camera filming the 29-year-old near her home between 19:30 and 20:00 on Saturday. While the partner told investigators that his girlfriend was in bed sleeping when he came out Sunday morning at 7 o'clock.
The investigation immediately revealed that Giulia had had a serious argument with her boyfriend after discovering a parallel relationship with a young stranger. A girl who had also become pregnant months earlier before deciding to terminate the pregnancy. The two women had another confrontation, only on Saturday.
The hypothesis of the investigators is that the two lovers then had a fight during which Impagnatiello allegedly killed the 29-year-old and then removed her body.
It is still unclear how she was killed. But it seems that he inflicted several stab wounds on the body and then tried to set the body on fire. The investigations continue on the hypothesis that the 30-year-old may have had an accomplice, even if in his confession he said that he did it himself.
