After the visit of the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister to Serbia, Aleksandër Grushko, the EU and the USA repeat the calls to Belgrade to distance itself from Moscow. Brussels again asked Serbia to impose sanctions on Russia for the war in Ukraine, thus joining the line of the European Union.
"The European Union has been very clear with our partners: relations with Russia cannot be normal with Russia's unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine," the EU spokesperson declared.
So, the US State Department said in a response to Radio Free Europe that Belgrade should not offer Russia a platform to promote aggression in Ukraine.
"The countries of the Western Balkans, as well as all of Europe, have a great interest in the outcome of the Russian war against Ukraine, which threatens the foundations of international order and security. Therefore, it is extremely important that we continue to stand united in the face of aggression of Russia", said DASH.
The statements came after the visit of Lavrov's deputy, Grushko, who met with President Aleksandar Vucic, and other senior Serbian officials such as Dacic and Vulin.
Vučić thanked Grushko for his support regarding the Srebrenica resolution and the territorial integrity of Serbia. The Russian media informed me that special attention was paid to the issue of Kosovo in the talks.
As stated, the need to rely on international law and the UN Security Council resolution 1244 was emphasized, as well as the importance of implementing the obligations arising from the dialogue, such as the formation of the association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.
