What is expected? Chief negotiators Bislimi and Petkovic meet today in Brussels

The chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic, will meet today in Brussels. The representative of the EU for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, said that with Bislim and Petković he continues to work on unblocking the agreement.

Referring to separate meetings with Kurti and Vucic last week, he said the discussions were more challenging than ever. He expressed regret that there was no progress in the implementation of the agreement towards normalization.

"Unfortunately, we have not seen any progress in the implementation of the Agreement on the Normalization Path. The discussions were as challenging as ever. However, our work continues tomorrow when I will convene the Chief Negotiators to work out the concrete steps to unlock the implementation of the Agreement. My week ended in Dubrovnik at the annual Dubrovnik Forum that brings together policy and decision makers from the Western Balkans and beyond. This event is always a good indicator of where we are, ahead of the summer political break. This year, the focus was on global challenges, elections and upcoming developments, but we also discussed the future of the Western Balkans as part of the EU."

While the EU's spokesperson for foreign policy and security, Peter Stano, said that the priority at the meeting will be "the urgent start of the implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalization of relations".
