In case of victory of the National Rally in the second round of legislative elections, "the government is ready". This is what the leader of the far-right party, Marine Le Pen, assured the French this Tuesday while speaking to France Inter.
"This government will be complete, competent, composed of people from the National Rally and people who participated with us in the elections", she explains, emphasizing that the government will include people from civil society.
Le Pen even assures the French that she herself will neither be a member of parliament nor the president of the Assembly, and even more so will she consider taking any ministerial post. "I won't be at all", she insists.
As for coalitions in the event that the National Rally does not win a majority in the National Assembly, Le Pen said: "We cannot agree to go into government if we cannot act."
"There is no point if we cannot change the policy that is being followed. Going to the government just to sit in the minister's chair is not the objective. If we did this, it would be the worst betrayal to our voters. But we want to go there, we want to govern", stressed the leader of the extreme right.
Criticism of rivals for the idea put forward during the campaign to ban citizens with dual citizenship from the leadership of some institutions, Le Pen described as ridiculous, saying that there is a legal basis in France currently where this is applied, with a list of about 30 positions .
"The ban on access to certain positions for dual citizens concerns a list of about thirty positions. Today there is a secret conflict with Russia, it is clear that we will not put a Franco-Russian in charge of nuclear security", Le Pen explained.
"This already exists in many countries," she added, citing Germany.
