Russian President Vladimir Putin has broken his silence on the death of his former friend Yevgeny Prigozhin, during an address on Russian national television.
One day after the crash of the private plane that took the life of the head of "Wagner" and 9 other people, Putin reacted by expressing his condolences.
During the statement to the media, Putin called his former chef a "successful businessman, but who made serious mistakes in his life.
Prigozhin was nicknamed Putin's chef, since in the 90s he owned a catering business and then won tenders for supplying food to high official institutions, including for Putin.
Putin said that "as far as he knows", Prigozhin was in West Africa a few days ago, where he met with a high-ranking official. According to him, the investigation into the causes of the plane crash will be done, but it will take a long time.
"He was a person with a complicated fate, and he made serious mistakes in life, but he also sought to achieve the necessary results, both for himself and at the time when I asked him, for the common cause, as in the last few months", declared Putin about Prigozhin.
