After the news of the death of the Russian oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin, social media and mainly the pro-Russian ones that supported "Wagner" have been filled with memorial posts for him.
Despite the fact that Prigozhin had become an enemy of the regime in Moscow, after the failed coup d'état, among ordinary citizens and mercenary fighters of "Wagner" there were hundreds of thousands of those who supported him.
Among them there was also talk of some kind of "revenge" for the death of Prigozhin, but until now the situation in Russia has been calm, although tensions are felt with the strengthening of security near state buildings.
In a video published "online", Prigozhin seems to have predicted his fate. He is heard talking off-camera with the commander of "Wagner" Dmitry Utkin, as the latter says "Death is not the end, it is only the beginning".
While Prigozhin answers: "We will go to Hell, but even there we will be the best." An expression that has already become a symbol among his supporters.
Death is not the end, it's just the beginning of something else," says Dmitry "Wagner" Utkin (voiceover), pondering the inevitable. "We will all go to hell, but in hell we will be the best," sums up Yevgeny Prigozhin pic.twitter.com/ihlz5VVg6k
