Putin meets Erdogan

Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the city of Sochi, in a meeting focused on grain exports to the Black Sea.

"If you want, you can come here for vacation. It's very nice", were Putin's words as he welcomed the Turkish leader. Afterwards, the Kremlin's number one said they would discuss the situation in Ukraine and that Russia was ready for talks on the wheat deal it withdrew from in July.

Also, Erdogan emphasized that the grain export corridor was the most important issue in the meeting with Putin and that the message after the talks would be a very important step forward. A proposal from Moscow to supply Turkey with 1 million tons of wheat, which will then be distributed to countries most in need, with the financial assistance of Qatar, will also be discussed.

"The Ukrainian counter-offensive has failed"

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, said that Ukraine's counter-offensive, which has lasted for 3 months, has failed.

In a joint press conference in Sochi with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he answered a question about the situation on the ground in Ukraine as follows: "The Ukrainian counter-offensive has not stalled, but it has failed. At least that's how it seems today. Let's see what happens next. I hope that their failures will continue".

Putin added that Russia has never rejected peace talks with Ukraine, saying that he confirmed this to Erdogan: "I want to underline that Russia has never rejected peace talks with Ukraine. And we don't reject them even now. Mr. President (referring to Erdogan) has raised the issue during our meeting today and I have confirmed this to him".
