Rare footage has been released revealing how North Korean girls are publicly humiliated and punished for watching South Korean media.
According to foreign media, the footage shows a public shaming session in a large auditorium, where dozens of young North Koreans are lined up in front of soldiers and reprimanded for their 'crimes'.
A young girl, identified only as Choi, was seen crying as she was dragged before the crowd.
According to a translation by KBS Media, which obtained the footage, she said: "I made a mistake by listening to and spreading the dirty propaganda published."
Then she left in handcuffs.
Kim Jong Un's government has had an iron grip on information coming in and out of North Korea for decades, expressly banning its citizens from consuming foreign news, music, movies and television.
