The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the violence in today's parliamentary session of the Assembly of Kosovo.
Osmani condemns violence, saying that it is not a tool for addressing grievances, differences or disagreements.
"Violence has no place in the temple of democracy and cannot be turned into a political tool", Osmani says, among other things, in a message addressed to politicians.
The violence in the Assembly broke out after a PDK deputy sprayed Prime Minister Albin Kurti with water while the latter was in the lectern. Then the situation got out of control.
"The use of physical violence as a means to address grievances, differences or political disagreements is the greatest damage that can be done to the institutions that were built with so much to sacrifice.
The Assembly is the cornerstone of our democratic society, where different voices come together to represent the interests of citizens, so violence has no place in the temple of democracy and cannot be turned into a political tool.
We must reaffirm our commitment to democracy, different thinking, as well as mutual respect, relying on rule and respect for the law," writes Osmani.
