Netanyahu reveals post-war plan: Gaza to be run by local officials
Benjamin Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night officially presented to the Security Cabinet for the first time a document of principles on the management of Gaza after the war, with the aim of placing "local officials" with no ties to terrorism to administer the Strip, instead of Hamas. The document was published overnight.

The text does not name the Palestinian Authority or exclude its participation, but says that civil affairs in Gaza will be managed by "local officials" with "administrative experience", not linked to "countries or entities that support terrorism".

One of the key aspects of Benjamin Netanyahu's government's plan for post-war Gaza is the closure of UNRWA.

After recalling the alleged involvement of 12 members of the Agency on October 7, the plan states that Israel will work to replace the agency with "responsible international humanitarian organizations."

After the destruction of the military capacities and government structures of Hamas, security will be guaranteed by Israel.
