Mojtaba Khamenei on his deathbed? Iranian media reports that the supreme leader

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in critical condition and could die at any moment, Iranian media reported, citing sources close to the Tehran regime.

The independent Iranian agency IranWire writes that Khamenei has not held any meetings with members of the Iranian government since the American-Israeli attacks that killed his father, Ali Khamenei.

"We would not be surprised if we learned of his death soon," one of the sources said, quoted by the Iranian agency.

Since assuming the post of supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made any public appearances and no recordings of his speeches have been broadcast. Iranian state media have only published written statements attributed to him.

According to some reports, he may have been injured and damaged during the attack that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, and has since been isolated, communicating with senior regime officials through a network of intermediaries.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also stated in an interview broadcast on state television on Wednesday that contacts with the supreme leader are currently "very difficult."

However, so far there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding Mojtaba Khamenei's health condition, while the reports remain unconfirmed.
