Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, reportedly is in talks to partner with Jared Kushner, son-in-chief of former US President Donald Trump, to build hotels in central Belgrade.
The news was reported by Reuters, and their cooperation had not been reported before.
Kushner recently unveiled his plan to build a hotel complex on the site of the former Serbian General Staff building, which was bombed by NATO, as well as a tourist resort on The Island of Sazan and Zvërnec, Albania.
His investment company Affinity Partners has received $2 billion from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, but has not clarified whether the money from the fund will be invested in projects in the Balkans.
We remember that Alabbar is currently developing the controversial port of Durres project. Alabbar, according to Reuters, has started selling property assets in Belarus to a multi-billion-dollar property development company in Minsk.
Alabbar has had an early plan to develop a riverside area that crosses into Belgrade, but occasionally in the media has been reported of his withdrawal from this investment.
