The two suspects for the murder of the 2-year-old girl Danka Iliq in the Serbian town of Bor have been remanded in custody. These employees of the public enterprise "Vodovod" in Bor, both aged 50, after hitting Danka Iliq with a car, hid her body in a location still unknown to the Serbian police.
The police have also arrested the father and brother of one of the suspects for Danka Ilić's murder, as they are suspected of helping to move the murdered body of the minor girl. They have been remanded in custody for 30 days because they are accused of the crime of murder in collaboration.
The measure was also taken due to the risk of escape, the possibility of influencing witnesses, the destruction or removal of traces of the commission of the criminal offense as a result of public concern. They have accepted the serious crime that has shocked Serbian public opinion and beyond. The search for the body of the murdered girl is continuing, in several locations in the Bor area, by the Serbian police in cooperation with Interpol.
The farm of the grandfather of one of the suspects was also searched. The perpetrators of the murder themselves have stated that the girl's body was in the town's landfill, but her body has not yet been found. The citizens of Bor continue to place flowers and light candles near the House of Culture and send condolences to the Iliq family.
On the afternoon of March 26, the minor was playing in the yard of her apartment, when she was hit by the "Fiat Panda" vehicle that was being used by water supply workers. But even after the accident, the minor was still alive.
However, instead of helping him, one of the main suspects got out of the car and strangled the child with his hands. Then, they dragged him and hid the body, which has not been found until now. After the two killers discover where the body is, the corpse will be taken to the morgue, where the exact cause of death will be revealed.
The two killers were arrested the day the investigation began and claimed they had nothing to do with the disappearance of the murder. But they were suspicious of the Police, who kept them under surveillance. Meanwhile, in parallel, the two had cleaned the car with acid to eliminate every trace of blood... except for one spot that revealed them.
However, the key moment of their discovery was the publication of the video from Vienna, where it was thought that the minor was trafficked. As soon as the video was released, one wrote to the other: 'Saw him in Vienna, we made it!' So they were both handcuffed.
According to local media reports, Dejani spoke as soon as he was confronted with the facts and cried at the Police Station, while Jankovic spoke only when he was interrogated in the Vlach language. It is currently suspected that the two Waterworks workers who killed little Danka were drunk at the time they committed the crime.
