Serbian media: Vučić is forming an alliance as a countermeasure to the
Aleksandar Vucic

The formation of a military alliance between Croatia, Kosovo and Albania has caused a series of negative reactions in Serbia, where President Aleksandar Vučić claims that it violates the 1996 arms agreement signed in Florence between Croatia and the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska.

However, as reported “exclusively” by media outlets in Serbia close to Vučić, Serbia will now, in response to the military alliance between Croatia, Kosovo and Albania, enter into a military alliance with Hungary. The news was published yesterday in Kurir, a Serbian newspaper which writes that “a real bomb is being prepared”.

According to Kurir, Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban are already in negotiations. It should be added that at this point, the news of such an alliance has not been officially confirmed and neither Vučić nor Orban have commented on it.

It is certainly worth noting the context of the publication in Kurir. All of this is happening at the moment of yesterday's important summit in Brussels.

In the preparatory meetings before the European Union summit, Croatia expressed concern about the lack of clearer language in the paragraph of the conclusions dedicated to the situation in the Western Balkans, namely Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Croatia believes that there is a risk of the situation spreading to the region and that a response from the European Council was necessary.

However, Hungary opposed this initiative, believing that the outcome of the meeting should remain as is.
