The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, declared today that the punitive measures of the European Union should be removed before the announcement of the elections in the north.
Kurti, at the media conference after the government meeting, said that this is not a conditionality towards the EU, but it is the logical course of things that should happen.
"The Bratislava agreement must be implemented. We are preparing to have elections in the north, while we expect the punitive measures to be removed as best as possible, of course we expect them to be removed in advance", he said.
Kurti also called lynchings against young policemen from the Serbian community unacceptable. Meanwhile, he asked for the international response to this vicious lynching campaign, as he said, supported by Belgrade.
However, Kurti said that these lynchings should be ignored by these policemen.
