The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a telephone conversation with the Deputy National Security Advisor of the United States, Jon Finer, with which he left open the possibility of holding new elections in the 4 municipalities in the north of Kosovo.
Through a post on social networks, Kurti emphasized that he is ready to negotiate with internationals to de-escalate the situation.
"Delighted to speak with United States Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer. I thanked him for the call and pledged to work with the US to de-escalate tensions. This calls for an immediate end to Belgrade-backed gang violence by security officials until new elections are held in these municipalities. Always good to talk to Chris MurphyCT, Senator Ricketts and Senato Shaheen. I thanked them for their support. Removal of violent crowds in front of municipal buildings and full implementation of Agreement B is the path to de-escalation until new elections," Kurti writes on Twitter.
The new elections have been one of the clear demands that the EU has asked the parties, meanwhile it has informed them that Serbia must participate in this process and start the work for the creation of the Association, otherwise there will be consequences.
