Horror footage shows the moment a man tried to kill his father's alleged killer during the trial by shooting him six times before hitting him with the butt of the gun.

Video from inside the courtroom in São José do Belmonte, Brazil, shows judges and jurors running to escape after Cristiano Alves Terto, 27, opened fire.

A few minutes later, the accused falls to the ground, but the 27-year-old does not stop. He rushes in and furiously hits him twice in the head with the gun. The man was chased by the police and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident happened on November 29, but the video of the shooting was made public on Monday. The defendant was rushed to a local hospital and survived his injuries.
