Iran had previously warned America that the attack on Israel would be restrained, as it was "guaranteed" that the priority of the Islamic Republic is "the security of its neighbors".
This is what the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said to several foreign ambassadors, whom he invited to the meeting.
Among them, diplomats from France, Germany and Great Britain.
The Iranian chief diplomat mentioned several points in the meeting:
- We informed the US that our operation against Israel will be "limited" and for self-defense.
- We do not seek to expand the conflict in the region.
- We have informed the US that we will target its bases if Iran is targeted.
-About 72 hours before the operation, we informed our neighbors and countries in the region that Iran's response, as part of a legitimate defense, was certain and final.
- The security of neighboring countries is at the top of Iran's priorities.
These are the points made by Abdollaihian.
Meanwhile, the world has lined up to condemn the massive attack that Tehran launched against Israel, where hundreds of drones and missiles (including ballistic ones) were launched furiously towards the Jewish state.
Tehran had threatened to attack Israel after an airstrike on April 1, widely blamed on Israel, destroyed Iran's consulate in Syria, killing 12 people, including two elite Iranian generals.
Israeli forces said in a statement early Sunday that the "vast majority" of missiles fired by Iran were intercepted outside Israel's borders.
